Prepare for Your Appointment
What should I expect from my first appointment?
- Your initial appointment will take around 45 minutes. Dr Wilding consults by Telehealth, in person or by phone.
- Together we will review your personal and/or family history of cancer. It is helpful to prepare this information before your appointment click here to enter your family history now.
- We will discuss whether a genetic test may be helpful for you.
- If genetic testing is recommended, we will discuss the testing options and whether there will be a cost for testing. Genetic testing is performed through a private company. If there is a cost this will be paid separately, directly to the company. There is no obligation to have testing. I will always act in your best interests and help you to make an informed decision.
- Your cancer risk will be estimated and we will discuss ways to reduce your risk.
- This estimate will be based on family history and/or genetic testing results.
